For those of you who just can't get enough of BC politics, this 44 minute documentary is a must watch as it looks behind the scenes of how our provincial government passes legislation.

You opened the Off-Topic so let me continue it.....

No polling data publicly or internally for any party indicated that the NDP would lose, some polling showed that the Liberals would do better than expected but not come close to winning.

People saying they thought the Liberals would win did so without any data to prove their point.

Why did the NDP lose? I have been trying to analyze and I do not have enough data to prove a number of things I think did happen. It really comes down to who came out to vote and who did not.

1) There seems to be a co-relation between those that had decent volunteer numbers and those that did not. I only have limited data for some of this around BC but what I do have seems to indicate it was a major factor

2) Many under 40 voters did not vote because they did not like the choices available to them. Voter turnout did best when there was a strong Green candidate.

3) The methodology of the pollsters is fundamentally flawed and needs a much deeper understanding of mathematics and statistical sampling. Basically no one polling in BC at this time is doing anything that could be called an accurate read of opinion of the voting public. I think the pollsters may be getting close to the overall public opinion but since 45% of the people did not vote, the overall public and the voting public are two very different groups

What I can say about this election
1) The Greens take more votes from the BC Liberals the NDP. In the 20 ridings where there was no Green or strong independent in 2013 I compared the results to 2009. The trend is that the 2009 Green voters were more likely to vote BC Liberal in 2013 than NDP by a wide margin.

2) Voter turnout was highest among "white" British Columbians and lowest among immigrants from China/Taiwan/Hong Kong
