There’s a new crosswalk across Superior from the back of the Ledge, complete with what looks like stainless bollards.

The plaza is really going ahead.  They’re working a lot on the water features and wood seating, and have started the pavers in the central bit.

I believe the plaza is supposed to be ready by August, and the pavilion building by late Fall (you can see the window frames have been put in the latter).

I’m pretty sure the two angled corners of the office buildings will give a reflection of each other & the plaza, based on the angle in that last photo.

It’s hard to tell until they remove the fencing and you can get in there, but perhaps the angles are right to see a reflection of the legislature from the plaza?

Progress of the plaza paving and wooden benches, and the addition of soil and the planting of at least 5 trees. The work around the water/light feature (flush with the rest of the paving, as can be seen in the rendering) is really advancing too.  This is really looking good.  I can't wait until they take down that fence and this opens up to add to the public access around the Phase 1 building.

Question of the day is how much? They are advertising as "High End" so I'm sure price will reflect that. Definitely going to be interesting to see what Roundhouse/ Bayview tower 4 and new Bosa at Dockside come out with for pricing....if they ever come out

The latter especially. How many master plans/developers has Dockside been through to date?

Just got email on Capital park... pricing is starting around $1000/sqft after taxes. I felt Hudson One was reaching for the stars (looking at the amount of units sold I think others feel the same) but Capital Park is even higher so it will be interesting to see the quality of Luxury finishings these will have.

The plaza and coffeehouse are coming along quite nicely! Pictures are from a few days ago. I thought the water features were going to be deeper pools, but they're thin films of water. Kind of neat actually.

how do you keep shallow water features clean? Seems like that's rather difficult without someone there doing it probably daily.

maybe you just run a squeegee type thing across the top leaves flush out and dry up.  once a day for 10 seconds when maintenance comes by anyway.

I have seen some bad examples where there wasn't a lack of effort regarding maintenance. Unless heavy doses of chemicals are used in combination with regular cleaning, you end up with a nice green pool.

I remember the fountain in front of the UVic library getting cleaned quite often. There always seemed to be someone there blasting it with a firehose.

The retail pavilion in the square, with its woodwork, water features, and striped paving.

They're still working on the waterfall wall on the side of the building. That's seeming to take forever, but I think it's going to be a really delightful feature.

For those wondering ‘why aren’t more people enjoying this public square?’, it is unpleasantly noisy in this square at the moment what with the back-up beepers, trucks and concrete pours going on a few metres away.

Photos of the Phase 2 government office building progress (from a week ago).

The last 2 photos show the back side, where you can start to see the raised-up concrete sides where that hill will be constructed.

The wooden "paving" outside the central plaza pavilion building looks like it could get pretty slippery when it rains.

What is that wood, eucalyptus?  Cannot believe it is teak.

It shouldn't be too slippy, and will improve grip as it weathers, but will need replacement in due course.
