I have never rented a self erecting crane before, but I think a hammerhead is about double the cost

Two floors. They're taking their time with this one.

It still seems to be moving faster than Legato!

ps: Don't hate on me. I LOVE the Legato project. I just want to see it progress faster is all.

Try and get it on video when the building next door collapses into the hole.

I just noticed that too. There's nothing currently that tall next to the Azzuro project.

Edit: Here's a better rendering that I think clears up the 'south end block' question - it's part of Azzurro itself:

It will be the same for that "skyscraper" proposed for the Cook Street Village, assuming the local NIMBYs ever put away their torches and pitch forks.

It's funny how there is a never ending litany of complaints about housing affordability in the region and yet we keep allowing undersized project like this to be built. By relaxing the parking requirements this building could easily have been 12 floors tall in this location allowing for double the number of affordable dwellings. Why do we keep shooting ourselves in the foot like this?

How about this. The city starts allowing higher buildings if the developer agree to build a couple of levels of public parking? They turn over the parking to the city and increase city parking in various areas. Then start removing on street parking in some areas.

Make it even more attractive, allow the developer to share or take the profits for x number of years before it become fully city owned and operated?

Then they could tear down some of the old crappy parkades with the same deals in place. The extra tax base would off set by the loss in parking revenue.

Typically we see a floor a week, but here we've seen a floor a month.
