I've noticed that store bought brands of pierogies are slowly changing their spelling. In the 90's when they first started appearing I suppose the misspelling stuck.

Uhhh, maybe the store bought brands aren't Polish?

I doubt any of them are, but that's no reason to misspell something. Everyone manages to spell pizza correctly.

But OSJ is right, what's important here is Churchill got it right the first time around :)

may as well add the other lists. here ya go. the wine list changes as well.

The wife and I ate there on Saturday and enjoyed the new menu, that's about the fourth time and I highly recommend it.

How many Johnny Walker Blue Labels at $10 ( on you original menu) did you sell ?

ps: another vote for Brad and all the staff.

Sounds like someone's never heard of Hunky Bill.

We caught the JW blue mistake on opening day. so none sold. LOL

Glad you like the place and the staff, Some of them still have some learning to do but it was nice hand picking staff.

Little update for everybody.

As of sept. 29th I will be the Islands first full time Fernie Brewing sales rep.

My 15 years here at Garricks Head and The Churchill have been a blast, but time to move on.

Brad Hay will be taking over my position, as some of you know he is a great guy and will continue to make these the best bars in town.

thanks for all the support over the years.

Congratulations! The Garrick's has always been of my favourite places to go and the Churchill has been an excellent addition. I'm sure you'll be bringing increased awareness of Fernie's tasty beers to the island. Well done and good luck.

Finally checked the place out. Overall pretty good, but the beer list is hard to read, the bathrooms are disgusting and the perogies were awful frozen bag Cheemos or something.

Was downtown last week and needed to kill some time until our table at North 49 (North 48?  North.. whatever, it was meh) .. popped into The Churchill to see what it was..

I like it..  Not big, so wasnt especially noisy, long long bar with a nice lookin tap setup, friendly staff, great selection of beers.. Place was a little hipster-heavy maybe, but I could still see myself comin early to stake out a booth and killin a night there with some friends having beers..  Will definitely be back..

One suggestion, at least a couple cards with what you've got on tap.. Havent been 20 (physically..) for awhile and being down the door-end of the bar made trying to read the beer list way up there was a pain..

Also, you need Dark Matter please.

cheers,

cakes..
