The 3-sided façade doesn't seem so lonely any more as the rest of the building catches up.

There's a nice plaque nearby on the new pedestrian island.

I literally haven't been to this part of town since before demolition started.

Catching up to the heritage facade no doubt Kungsberg. Think we might see some glass on this before summers end? The commercial unit fenestration will look spectacular.

I've noticed the concrete work on this project doesn't always look as good as some other projects I've watched go up downtown. In the below photo you can see concrete chunks missing from some of the columns and can even see the rebar crisscross underneath. It was more prominent when I went down in person to look.

Admittedly I don't know TOO much about concrete construction but is something like this easily remedied?

I think those can be patched no problem with some fiber/adhesive reinforced concrete. They probably missed hitting those pieces thoroughly with the concrete oscillator.

Hmmm. Presumably that brings the overall strength of the column back up to what it would have been otherwise, right? I'm going to assume so since the construction workers on site don't seem to worried.

For comparison, I've been watching both the Yates on Yates and Vivid at the Yates go up since start of 2018 to now and the concrete work and columns have been consistently pretty good (ie. no chunks missing with rebar visible beneath). Whereas for Custom House I've seen a few columns like the picture above on nearly every level as the building goes up. I guess I was just assuming that, as such an expensive building, the quality would be different? I suppose, since Custom House will be much shorter, the requirements for column strength are much lower?

Anyway, I'm speaking as someone who knows little about concrete building construction (but I'm hoping that someone who knows more while chime in).

Pockmarks and honeycombing happens, if it's not an architectural finish wall it's not a big deal. Crews will fill and patch later and the wall will be functionally the same. Large chunks missing may get additional testing to ensure the strength remains.

Your Google history must be interesting !  :)

It was a local news story, after this was reported another woman from Nevada came forward and gave an even juicier version of the same thing happening to her.

Are realtors and buyers ready to start panicking?

And what value would there be to that? When does panicking ever serve anyone's best needs?

Is anyone still working on construction sites in the City? I think the bigger concern for developers will be carrying the costs for an unknown period of time.

There were people working at Customs House on Friday.
