And I fully admit to having no life outside of VV.
That's OK. I got a life outside VV, but it didn't turn out to be a better thing.

I got a life outside this thread and it's a lot better(sometimes), you few can argue it out on this thread.

Green Tree dispensary Langford is back open again...
And in 24-48 hours they will be shut down again. Illegal businesses are not allowed to operate in Langford.
I shared some Health Canada information to Green Tree's FB page. I am sure they'll happily comply with federal laws now.

Green Tree Medical Marijuana Dispensary has been fighting a battle to stay open, with the City of Langford since they first opened in January 2017. The City of Langford, specifically the mayor Stew Young, has publicly stated he does not condone giving a business license to any dispensary until the government makes a decision on the legality of this all, as it is currently a grey area.
Sorry, where is the law grey on this?

Exactly. The law is VERY explicit: "Storefronts selling marijuana, commonly known as "dispensaries" and "compassion clubs," are not authorized to sell cannabis for medical or any other purposes."

These folks are self-righteous pricks who literally believe they are above the law, because they have their version of morality on their side.

Dispensaries are also charging black market rates for their pot. How is it that a business with zero risk, buying product in massive bulk sizes, still sells for the going street rate?
How is it that with 40 or so dispensaries, prices haven't fallen due to competition? COV, maybe have a gander at behind the scenes where someone *cough organized crime cough* is controlling the prices.

I am sure if one asked this would be "the responsibility of Ottawa". The CoV's only concern is the licensing fee and then turning a blind eye to all the illegal aspects of these operations because of Council's personal feelings on access to marijuana.

I suspect because the demand is high enough to sustain the price point? (40+ pot stores, plus all the pot dealers still in the shadows, suggests there's a pretty huge demand).

There sure must have been a lot of "sick" people using traditional medicine before all these dispensaries opened up. I guess we should expect to see a related decline in health care costs now.
