We live in a modular set on top of a 8 foot finished basement, love it. Lots of those on salt spring.
The difference being you own the land it is sitting on? That is the problem with most mobiles, manufactured homes in "parks". They don't own the land. And that has the most value.

There should be more mobile home parks, super affordable housing. There has got to be some crown land that could house hundreds of these.
