Here's hoping Mr. Loveday recognizes that THAT is a livability issue and not speed limits.

In response to a comment on his Facebook page about being tougher on crime, Jeremy posted:

"Not exactly, Kelly. I do think this a great opportunity to highlight the benefits of healthy, vibrant communities, where people know their neighbours."

During his radio interview this morning on CFAX, he also mentioned most residents on the road were out that afternoon he was door knocking.  So while everyone is out enjoying their healthy, vibrant community, crooks are running around breaking into houses and cars.

I was responding to being the "tough on crime candidate". I meant that that image isn't exactly what I am running on. I 100% agree that safety is a key component to livable neighourboods. I live 2 blocks from where this happened.  In the last year, my partner has had her car broken into twice and I had the back wheel of my bike stolen.  I'm encouraged to hear Frank Elsner speaking about moving towards a community policing model. I think that will help address these types of issues at a localized neighbourhood to neighbourhood level.
