I was at Fred's announcement meeting yesterday and he has organized quite a team of supporters already. He is going to let out his platform in stages in order to keep the discussion alive. He mentioned that a 3% increase in taxes every year is unsustainable, and he would like to use innovative ways to reduce the tax burden from residential properties. One of these ways is to have a more accountable regional government, which is why I guess he is running for a CRD seat as well. I think he said that our portion of taxes paid to the CRD can be reduced because it is not spent wisely.

I am not sure about his amalgamation stand. If I understood correctly he doesn't think that shifting tax burden to business from residential was a good idea. I think he want's to explore ideas that reduce tax increases.

I was there too.
I wished I was wearing my VV t-shirt so I could be recognized. I think John N might have been there too, I was hoping to talk to him. Too bad I don't know what he looks like.
Oh, right, I don't have a VV t-shirt.
That was a pretty energetic rally, that I could tell from the short time that I was there. This guy seems to be well liked and his background is from Science and Education.....not car sales.
