I was by today and it looked to me like the carpenters could be in the downtown side of the excavation early in the new year ...

My estimate is half way to full height by this time next year.

I'm not sure how they plan to build them. Do you think one tower (perhaps the western one) will get built ahead of the other?

i believe the West tower will be coming first, and then the East tower.

Seems logical since the west side of the site is excavated and the east is not

So it's likely to be a build-out like the Hudson Walk towers, even though 989 will be sharing a common podium unlike the distinctly separate towers at HW.

I think they will start in the west and as soon as the east excavation is done, the west will be well under way, the east will begin with the two towers going up at the same time but off-set by a few floors ... but what do I know.

That's the way the Aria (on Humboldt) was constructed...

Building out in phases is usually done in Victoria as it's easier to secure financing in pre-sales.

This site will see a crane rising higher than any other.
The crane will be the tallest ever seen in Victoria .
It will stand 280ft from base to top of tower..
Much taller than the Promontory crane.
However the elevation will not be as high as the Promontory due to the Prom sitting atop a hill.
