Not to mention the future residents of the south facing side of 989 Johnson. I don't see the Atlas lot being developed as a highrise anytime soon.

Unless you drop 10M at Customs House. Then you can expect view preservation for life.

Redevelopment of the Harris Green Village (London Drugs) plaza would make much more sense than trying to squeeze something onto the Atlas lot.

It most definitely is large enough to build a highrise there with the limiting factor being parking. 1010 fort Street is on a similar sized lot with the atlas being a corner lot which would also help, but at the end of the day depends on wilingness of parking variance

Back in the day I was always hoping for something significant on that corner. But Legato is sharp and 989 Johnson looks like it will be, too. I don't want to see them get blocked in, and I'm also a fan of having a mix of heights. Give me 7 or 8 stories on the corner, in a totally different style from either of the adjacent buildings.

Or maybe I should say "blocked out", since I'm speaking from the POV of the proverbial man on the street.

Cadillac Fairview should take over the London drugs lot combined with the Market on Yates lot. Either that or the Chrysler dealership lot. With Harris Green’s growing high population density, a shopping mall of some sort would be great in the community.

As long as it comes with a fairly high density residential component I am all for redevelopment.

I'd guess the lot that Ventana is proposed for is about the same size as Atlas, and that's 14 storeys. I'm with Aastra though. I'd prefer something shorter there to vary the heights anyways.

If by summer they mean no earlier than September 22, then maybe...

The first closings are still scheduled for August. The crane will be coming down by the end of April, so the 17-storey top-out will occur by the end of March.

From individuals that I know moving into the 17 story portion, a lot of crew from the other tower have been pulled over to get it completed on time. The would prefer only one tower be late if required, not both.
