It's such a political mess up there I dont know if they know what's going on.

So, is the not Alice Finall vote up for grabs then? Maybe I should run.

That being said, isn't he one of those perennial run-for-everything fringe candidates?

So David Shebib is running for Mayor of two separate municipalities?! Maybe he'll be the amalgamation candidate if he wins both...
That being said, isn't he one of those perennial run-for-everything fringe candidates?
No, he's running in 13.

This will be an interesting race. Veteran politician Jack Mar is returning for a shot at the mayor's chair after sitting out a term while rookie Ryan Windsor, who only recently won his councillor seat in a scandal-sparked by-election will challenge Mar for all the marbles. Windsor must be feeling confident enough to take this big risk so early in his political career.

Mar filed at the last minute, I think it surprised most.

Jack Mar is no Angel. He made quite a few interesting comments when he was Mayor such as being quite happy the West Call Centre closed as it means that many less cars and CS will still collect its property tax for an empty building etc no clue that this was close to 800-900 people spending some of their money at Keating area restaurants and other services.
Yes that's right, what a silly thing to have said. Hard to believe a mayor of a municipality was actually happy to see so many jobs disappear.
Know it all.

Very surprised Alice is running again.

I am posting this link to Niall Paltiel because my daughters were talking over dinner about his campaign for a council seat in Central Saanich. One of them has attended classes with this young upstart. She said she was attempting to chat with her political science professor after class, and had to wait her turn as the prof was engaged in a lively political discussion with Niall. She said that he has found his calling. I am starting to pay more attention to the younger candidates....the world is quickly becoming their responsibility.

Miller has pulled out, and endorsed Hartshorne. But he might not have done it soon enough to get his name off the ballot. What a jerk.

I agree, all that kind of behaviour does is split the vote, perhaps it was the intention all along.

Is Dorothy Hartshorne related to Jim Hartshorne - the big developer in the WestShore?
