sound is a pressure wave that forms when the media it is traveling in is disrupted in some way.
Can be heard in a VV media type vehicle when the handbrake lets go and the car plunges off the back of the ferry, at which point another wave can actually be seen.

One of the workers told me today that the metal pieces are in the ground 30 ft deep to stabilize the excavation and keep out water. They will remain in the ground around the finished structure The foundation will be dug 20 ft deep.

Both an excavator and a backhoe on site today. The remains of the apartment's foundation has been removed, and the (foundation?) digging has started on the south side of the lot.

Does anyone know when pre-sales are to begin? I thought it was scheduled for June............

The concrete pour for this site is underway...

This , if I'm correct, is one of the first projects to not start pre-sales before construction. Another sign of a red hot market and a builder not looking to sell any sooner than possible so as to capture the most profit.

We've actually seen quite a lot of this in recent years. Jukebox, 989, Hudson Place One, Cityzen, 595 Pandora, Customs House, and 200 Cook, among others, got underway before sales began.
Know it all.

Down into the old stream bed?...
I guess this means piles will be driven/poured here as part of the excavation process.

The elevation in that area is around 4-5 metres so I think they are almost down to sea level.

Any word when sales will begin? Is there a sales center as yet?

I don't expect driven/drilled piles, all that perimeter bracing would now be in the way. More likely that a raft slab will be placed at this point. The concept being that the weight of the excavated soil balances the weight of the building being constructed. They may form pockets around the braces so they can extract them later and then patch the holes in the slab.

It looked like there was already concrete around the ends of the bracing when I took the photo 4 days ago.

That concrete at the ends of the bracing is just what is called a "dead man" Its basically foundation support for the temporary bracing. The slab would be poured over top of the dead man.
