Is there one more building still to tear down?

Yes, the apartment building on the corner.

I thought that it was going.  Are occupants in the building still?

This is interesting ...  Anyone know where they're moving the building?

I'm shocked nobody chained themselves to the old buildings in protest.

They couldn't find the old buildings since they were shorter than the trees*.

I understand that the building is going to Port Townsend.  Can they do that - move it to the States?

As long as it meets the building code of the recipient jurisdiction, why not? I'd bet it's less red tape to move a building from Victoria to Port Townsend than within the CRD!

It's been done before. About a year ago some houses were moved from Oak Bay to San Juan Island.

That's right.  Hey, the NDP is happy, it's not raw logs!

Certainly this is a joke????  What's the value of an old building like this one?  I see nothing special worth saving.  Is there a certain historic value and if so, why would this have any value in the USA?? Trump will tax the old lumber adding 24%

Wow!

I never thought they could move such a large and old building. Impressive for sure!

Most likely because it's easy access to a barge? Recycling these buildings is great! I guess there is one positive to crazy house prices....

Congratulations to the developer as I'm sure they were part of that Team that led to saving this building for another community!
