Methinks any discussion of this project should commence with some reflection on the previous one. You know, that horrible monstrous thing that was going to overwhelm and destroy CSV utterly and completely, but then didn't.

I don't understand that image. Have they shifted the front/main corner of the building to the rear side?

Yeah, something seems off to me as well.

Another enigmatic comment from the CoV's "most past her best-before-date" councillor
Coun. Pam Madoff voted against sending it to hearing. Considered in the context of the village, “it’s like the bully has arrived on the street from an architectural point of view,” she said.

An architectural bully? What does this even mean?

Since it's going to public hearing I assume full approval has not yet been granted.

It is now the year 2019 and city council has decided to send the controversial and nation-dividing Cook Street project back to the developer for further revisions.
In other news, the COV has sent the debate entitled "How many angels can dance on the head of a pin" back to a fourteenth public hearing. This decision was reached after 3 councillors expressed concern over the short timelines presented in the original draft proposed in December 2016. In related news, the city has approved the 218th marijuana dispensary in the Gorge Burnside and Vic West regions.

Ah yes....the Pam that Roared. She's been refreshingly albeit suspiciously and uncharacteristically quiet in recent months. Something was inevitably bound to set her off. Not surprisingly it was a monolithic 5-story proposal. Offhand does anyone know if views of the Sooke Hills might be impaired should this behemoth be approved??

Only if a lot of trees between Cook Street and Sooke are cut down in the process, since most of them are taller than this proposal.
