Local history fans no longer have to make their way to the 1,000-square-foot Esquimalt archive to see records of the township’s past.

About 2,000 of the archive’s 6,000 photos, covering 150 years, have been digitized and posted online, making them accessible from anywhere with an Internet connection.

v988.1.11 Collection Sherri Robinson Collection Date [ca. 1910] Description Beaumont Post Office at Constance Ave. and Esquimalt Road. Later Ray’s Food Market (1987). Tenants named Ramsbottom and Dinsmore. Mr. Holt owned it and it was run by his son-in-law, Mr. Deauville. House at right was occupied by a tenant, Mr. Gibson.
