The near crane is lifting an elevator part onto the roof of Promontory. Middle tower crane is for the 5 story Encore building. There are also barge cranes working at the marina.

A big piece of the elevator system is already shot?  When I was a kid we'd re-wind the motor rotors on site... uphill both ways.

One elevator was just closed for 5 weeks while they re-roped it. A resident reported scraping sounds. Investigation showed the cables had been improperly installed, causing two cables to rub against each other and fray.

This piece is for the other elevator (aka "Bouncy Castle") that has been jerky since the building opened. Though it was deemed safe, the motion was disconcerting enough that people not in the know would ask if it was ok to ride.

Hopefully they are still under warranty because elevator parts and repairs are freakin' expensive!

Tell me about it. We are replacing the elevator in my (4-storey) condo building this year. Even at only 60% of the cost to me (the rest from our CFR) my share is still coming in at 4 figures.

A Tower Crane base has been installed on the Summit job Hillside ave.

The crane will be a Wolfkran 325 sl and it will be erected to 120’ freestanding. It will have 230’ of jib

similar to the one at St Andrews site Pandora...think it too will be a red one.

Just watched that on the news . Almost unbelievable that she was able to shimmy down the cables. Firefighters said they wanted to hire as a high angle rescue trainer.

Has Toronto’s famous ‘Crane Girl’ climbed here? One photo appears to be our Goldstream trestle

...one of the photos from her Instagram account looked awful familiar to us here in Victoria...
