Langford now has 3 Tower Cranes...

Two of which are of the "junior" variety.

I meant no judgement, just noting the different variety in use on the smaller projects in that area.

Hey, Gary!   Can you get us a collection of crane shots you can see from your place?

Tower Crane Inventory...

Here you go VHF.  From my perch I can see 7 tower cranes on 6 projects and will soon see 8 on 7 projects once 989 Johnson gets their crane.  I'm disappointed in the 750 Pandora height.  If it is really topping out then why did they erect such a tall crane?  Compare it to the Hudson Walk crane in the last pic.  I also didn't include the Legato because I don't think I'll ever see that project due to the tall buildings to the west.

From south to north we have:

1075 Pandora (left) and 989 Johnson (future right)
You can currently see the pile driving mobile crane on the 989 Johnson site.  If HB is right about the height, this will be an easily visible tower.

750 Pandora still has another level, then there is the mechanical floor on the roof. I think Hudson Walk just ever so barely made the cut. They likely could have used another mast piece.

Good photos Gary H. What kit are you using to get that kind of reach?

I thought we already established that Gary pays for 10 minutes of Hubble time per month.

That's surprisingly impressive for an integrated lens.

The crane at Hudson 2 is apparently coming down over Easter weekend - the Friday and Saturday.  Caledonia between Blanshard and Douglas will be closed past the White Spot parking lot. Businesses across the street from the site were warned that the crane would be swung over them to be dismantled.  Does anyone know of any safety info about doing this kind of thing over open businesses?  I know it must happen all the time...

The crane will come down in sections, of course, so it won't be a big deal safety wise :)

Oh, I figured they just pushed it over like a tree ;)  Cool, thanks.  One less crane, for probably a short period of time.

I hope we see the city's tallest cranes go up at Hudson Place within the next 12 months.

Haha, fair enough.

I guess I'm so used to having this guy right above me at all times that I haven't even considered the danger associated with dismantling a crane.

Btw, this is literally what I'm looking at out my window.

It will be a while the tender has just gone out for site prep/excavation
