From Colwood, above the Lagoon.

Wow that is great! I once again note the prominence of North Park Manor... It looks like its above sea level height is second after Camosack Manor.

It has a whole new look!

You would seem to be correct.

Which means the tallest Bay tower will ruin that view as well. Tourists who flock to the area above the lagoon to take in the non-skyline will be fuming about it.

I would say that is pretty unfortunate...

Great pic!

North Park manor is not downtown but it certainly scarred the poor North Park neighbourhood for eternity, didn't it? ;) We must project downtown from such height, or, or else.

The biggest difference between Vic and Van's skyline?

Victoria's arena has a roof.

^Well that's no difference at all, Vancouver's has a roof, it's the stadium that's missing a roof, and I guess Royal Athletic technically has a roof, but only over the stands.

Here are a couple shots taken this evening from the Hillside/Cook area. One of our forumers lives in the area and has an incredible view of town from his balcony. Unfortunately of all the photos I took only the following ones turned out.

**the bright light on the right side of the image is a cruise ship.

Here's a great pic by lightgazer over at Flickr.com. Tell me a significant building on the parking lot behind the Royal Theatre wouldn't work wonders:

Many more great pics:

Here's one I scanned out of the Bayview section of "Dream Homes of Canada" (http://www.dreamhomesofcanada.com):

Whoops, I guess this forum won't display the full width. Click this link to see it:

An interesting thing about this perspective: all of the new towers in south downtown are stacked up behind the Executive House, which means you can hardly see them! So much for new construction having a big impact on the skyline!

There was a great shot of the harbour in the TC this weekend by ace photographer Darren Stone. The web version is small and doesn't do it justice:

Can anyone point me to that pic with Mt. Baker towering over the city, taken from Metchosin Rd?

I believe this version was nabbed off of Flickr a couple of years ago. Which means it belongs to somebody:

Picture by somebody at Flickr.com, but I can't remember whom

There was also the version by the TC reporter which somebody scanned out of the newspaper. And I'm pretty sure there's at least one more recent version by somebody else on Flickr, too.

Edit: here's the more recent one of which I spoke:

From that angle, North Park Manor seems to be the tallest point in all of downtown.
