A Mucho Burrito franchise is opening soon in Tuscany Village.

Mucho Burrito is a Mexican fast-food chain with over 80 locations across the country.

The place in Esquimalt is run by a Mexican couple, I think, and Hernande'z (although not Mexican per se) is run by a man from El Salvador (is that right?).

do you think this place will last mike? I feel like the turnover has been fairly high for new chains that come to the area and occupy this space.

Back in cowtown I used to dig the Mucho Burrito. Nice to have one coming to town!

Its not bad for what it is, which is a quick serve alternative to taco bell and taco time. It is somewhat similar in food quality to a local shop I use to frequent when I lived in Pescadero California. This shop was a gas station which sold burritos, total hole in the wall.

I think you are referring to La Taquisa in the Westside Village and yes you are correct Mike this is a family-run outfit. Even their swamper speaks Spanish. First rate IMO too for what it is. We probably grab a family meal from there at 1-2x month.

La Taquisa is in Vic West. The Mexican place in Esquimalt on Head Street is run by a Mexican family, I'm pretty sure.

No. "Managed" (at the counter) maybe but not owned by and the recipes are authentic Mexico. I've met and spoken to the (Mexican) owners on a few occasions now. Very nice folks.

Oh yah, that's right. The owner's name is Scott, his wife is Mexican I think. Carry on.

Where is RBCM?

This is open. Should be popular with the UVic crowd, especially since Original Joe's next door discontinued their late night half-price appys.
