who told you that the rail line will remain dormant forever?
IMO, it isn't realistic to believe that line will ever be active again.

The section of the Westshore Parkway from HWY1 until the railroad is completely ready to be upgraded to 2+2 lanes at any time. The sidewalks, trees, and so on are all built to allow extremely easy expansion to 2+2. The only thing that will require more effort is a re-configuring of the round-about.

HB - time for you to take another run up Bear Mountain Parkway from Leigh Road. It is supposed to be open for the PGA tournament coming up in a couple of weeks but they are still working at it.

The vehicle lanes could have been wider as the truck in the video was over into the bike lane on the curves a few times.

Any thoughts on whether Transit has plans to utilize this new road?

I drove it today and it seems like it's winding for no reason. Anyone know why it couldn't be straighter? The width was fine but there's no way it should only be a 50 zone.

Doesn't' seem too be "winding" for me from the video posted above. It's not meant to be a freeway?
There is a pretty solid reason it is "winding"...It skirts the mountainside and its costs a lot of money to blast thorough mountains.
I think it looks great. Excited to shorten my trips out Highway 14.

This should make the West Hills folks happy. It's a bumper to bumper mess trying to get down Jacklin Road and out to Sooke. As more and more people got wise to the trick of going down the Parkway and cutting through Westhills to get onto Sooke road via Glen Lake Road it got crazy in that subdivision....and those narrow little roads weren't built for traffic. There are parts where two cars can't pass each other from opposite directions if you're not both rubbing the curb. I'd have been pretty choked to have moved onto Alouette Dr. with a young family.
