Esquimalt is in the process of selecting a children's play park equipment manufacturer for Fraser Street Park.

"Members of the public are invited to vote for their preferred playground options for a new community adventure park to be located on Fraser Street next to the Esquimalt Recreation Centre. Voting is available at the Esquimalt Recreation Centre and online (below) for the month of February.

The adventure park site plan includes a play area for children aged two to five and an additional area for children aged five to 16. Additional features include a splash pad/water park, a washroom/change room facility and a picnic area. Six playground concepts will be presented for the public to choose from.

Once the project budget has been approved, a tender will be released to solicit bids for park construction. Construction will begin after council awards the contract for general contracting and supply and construction of playground equipment.  It is expected that construction will take approximately 6-8 months." - http://www.esquimalt...ws02021601.aspx
