These towers are going to have a tremendous visual impact on downtown Victoria and Harris Green. Their presence hasn’t been fully flushed out yet on this forum, I don’t think, but once they reach the 16-17th floors and start to rise above everything around them the effect will be something else.

I was thinking that the other day while waiting at the bus stop in front of the 7-11 on Quadra. I was looking towards Floyd's and the laundromat and thinking about how different that scene would look in a few years, especially with 1400 Quadra, and the potential for redevelopment at Floyd's and the laundromat as well.

Imagine what this part of downtown would look like if every new build wasn't hampered with ridiculous height restrictions.

Imagine how different this scene will look once a few of these buildings are complete and 844 Johnson gets pushed out of the neighbourhood!

When they kicked em out of the courthouse’s backyard they built a playground as a gift to the neighbourhood. Once they get the boot from 844 they should build a rec centre or some sort of a large amenity on that lot :)

I doubt 844 Johnson will be changing from its current usage for a very long time, if ever.

With hundreds of extra eyeballs on the building, it sure will happen eventually.

Unless there is a drastic change on CoV council, it's staying put.

Believe it or not, I think socialism in BC will be on its way out in the years to come.

Own at The Yates from $339,900

Spring is in the air at The Yates on Yates, and we’re excited to announce our new release of Chard quality one bedroom homes! Priced from $339,900 to $469,900, this exclusive collection of homes puts you at the centre of it all with immediate access to the very best of downtown Victoria.

Big on style and substance.

Like all of the homes at The Yates, these one-bedroom suites feature in suite heating and cooling for year-round comfort. Kitchens prioritize function and flare, with fully-integrated appliances that include panel-front fridges, drawer-style dishwasher and induction cooktops. Solid surface countertops and one-piece backsplashes are both beautiful and low maintenance.

Just like winter, this opportunity won’t last! Only eight homes are available so don’t miss out. Reach out to us directly at 250.590.9940 or info@yatesonyates.com or visit us at 102-608 Broughton Street between noon and 5pm, Saturday through Wednesday. We look forward to sharing more details with you.

Sincerely,
The Yates on Yates Sales Team

Is the nightclub Sugar closed  down?  I notice that this development blocks two fire escapes from the adjacent building.

the capital ballroom has two fire exits on the front i think.  2 sets of stairs up from the front.

I am guessing Thursday, August 20, 2020 at 8:00 PM*. After all, this is a 20-storey building.

* aka 20:00 on the 24 hour clock.
