Happy thanksgiving to all colonists out there!

I am truly thankful for so many things in my life and am stunned most every day that things have progressed the way they have for me and my family and that we get to live in such a beautiful, safe spot of the world.

My kids came home for the weekend, and I was able to get away from work for 30 minutes to sit and eat some turkey dinner with them all, including our Dutch student, who despite his colonist background was unfamiliar with the idea of turkey and stuffing, haha!

Lots of clean plates tonight, just about 50 turkey dinners sold and everyone left happy I think. I know I sure did

Next up, Halloween! I think they do celebrate this a little in Holland. A few years back we had a French student, no concept of costumes or trick or treat, but she had a great time and learned something new!

Speaking of Dutch, I did our Turkey in our Dutch oven. A large vintage Le Creuset. So easy, fast and so delicious. We had a strange red wine that we couldn’t tell if it was off or because it was “young”. Beautiful night, happy kids playing. Grateful every day we get to live where we do.

We encountered a road block on our way home Sunday night, first one in a very, very long time, I think.

We went to Glo for dinner Sunday, good food.

Coming home about 8:30 we were behind a car with no taillights. Went right buy the cop at the side of the road, darked out.

Maybe he had too much turkey and was napping.
