I don't blame the guy for not wanting to lose his view. Who would? Is someone out there going, hey, I've got a beautiful view, let's ruin it? It's human nature.

I noticed something interesting: the early versions of this campaign called for removing urban growth limits to allow further sprawl. They don't seem to do that anymore. It is a good thing (UGLs can drive up prices, but transportation costs eat up most of the "benefits" of sprawl even if wasn't destroying the planet, our waistlines and our pockbooks)

^ Interesting. Because when he looks out at his view it sure could be ALR land. Maybe that message did not test well.

i am definitley pro what you call sprawl. its crazy how on one hand we have prohibitivly high real estate prices in this province, yet there is millions of acres of crown land along highways across BC that could easily be sold off and subdivided. this would generate revenue for the govt, it would take pressure off the prices in our urban centres, and would give people an oppourinity to buy land for cheap. it would also boost the economy massively as people would start building on these lots. we have so much wilderness in BC, the enviromental complaint is scare mongering

I'm pro-sprawl too.  I'm pro-village-centre too.  Bring on more CSVs and MyChosin Cafe's.

^^ it is absolutely mind boggling that an acre of land in the cowichan valley will cost $250,000. We have so much land in this province. Why do we need to make sure people only live in cities? They should be giving away homestead land all over the island to anyone who wants to settle it.
