Figured some others might be interesting in perusing the photos. They should be in chronological order so it forms a nice timeline. (241 photos)

I think most of the photos are from Brantastic, myself, Dkuitu, Citified and a few others I may have forgotten. Credit and thanks to all of them.
If you see one of your photos in there, let me know and I'll add your name to this post or take down the link if you prefer. (I don't normally do social media and photos so I'm not too sure of the etiquette)

Just one more ugly building; disappointing for downtown.

The "twin towers" aren't the worst things to appear on the downtown landscape, but I don't think they have lived up to expectations. The massing is good but the aesthetics fall a bit short.

I thought I'd like Vivid more than The Yates but after seeing the near-finished product and having gotten used to The Yates, I definitely prefer The Yates. I like the brick on the podium but the tower is just a hodge podge of randomly placed materials (entirely different from the renderings). The dark grey panelling along the side looks lumpy when the sun hits it. I've seen worse parking garage entrances, but it definitely adds to the feeling of Johnson Street just being the rear end of buildings on Pandora or Yates.
I think 1400 Quadra will be the most attractive of the three buildings.

Swing and a miss for Chard. Really doesn’t help this block of Johnson - vehicles for both buildings need access, but this is like an industrial loading zone.
It isn't always up to the developer thought....when I first moved into the 834 I was on the strata council and so was Mr. Chard. Everyone was complaining about the dumb column in the parkade entrance which makes it that much more difficult navigating in/out.
Turns out the city insisted the column be installed because they didn't like the way the entrance look at the Juliet so Mr. Chard went back to architect and they threw in the column to satify the city.
So many stakeholders get their fingers in the pie that certain design elements are often not the developer's fault.

All I want for Christmas is for the crane to come out.
It was estimated to be taken down in November. Unit tours are supposed to start in late January according to the winter update last week, but I don't see that happening for me when the crane is still where my bathtub or washer/dryer is supposed to be.

As we've seen with a fair number of recent developments, the worst design elements are often the CoV's fault.

Totally agreed. And they are also so large. The ugliness would loom over that part of the city centre.
