According to the TC, the RCMP is infiltrating Central Saanich:
It is not clear where Michael Hans Bopfinger was arrested, but Vancouver Police are thanking Victoria Police and Central Saanich RCMP for their assistance.

A shooting reportedly occurred last night in the 800-block of Orono Avenue near Station Road in Langford. Police are investigating and remain tight-lipped. Residents of the area say they heard shots prior to a police response. There is an individual in the area right now using a metal detector to look for items (possibly shell casings?).

Fake news! It's been well documented here on VV that there is no crime in Langford.

Well, now that HB is on vacation I suppose someone has to keep that hope alive, right?

I heard the pops and jumped on the scanner. was multiple reports of the shots form that area. pretty neat to hear how quickly they have a radius set up and looking for suspects. probably a mater of 3 minutes and officers were reporting their position looking for different things.

MAY 2016, VicPD:
The temptation is to give up, to assume there’s no point in even reporting a theft — but that’s not borne out by the statistics, at least not lately. Of 237 bicycles reported stolen to VicPD so far this year, 86 have been recovered.
http://www.timescolo...-back-1.2261240
Today, Sidney RCMP:
Contributing to this year’s numbers so far, was a 360 per cent increase in the number of bikes stolen. Put in perspective however, that was a jump to nine cases, versus two a year ago.

^Regarding Sidney's low numbers; it's not easy stealing an adult tricycle.

...an oldie but goodie:
What do Langford kids get for Christmas?
Colwood kid's bikes.
of course this was from a time before all crime was abolished in the Westshore

Are those actually bicycle thefts in Sidney, or just elderly people forgetting where they parked their bike?
That reminds me of that one time I drove to work in the morning and then took the bus home at the end of the day...d'oh.

You would be surprised at the number of chop shops some of the retirement homes have. They say is more popular than the carpet bowling.

Exactly what an adult tricycle thief would say?

VicPD had the JSB closed off late last night. Anyone catch wind of what was happening?

That's an old joke. I've heard it years ago about Surrey not Langford

Jumping off the JSB?! You'd just get wet and cold, wouldn't you?
