Guess he got a bit more than wet and cold then.

The fall wouldn't kill you unless you hit something hard on the way down. He must have drowned

The body was recovered this morning just before noon.

That awkward moment when your attempt at humour falls *really* flat

Say, what's that mountain goat doing up here in the mist?

How many murders in Metro Vancouver this year?  It seems there is one every few days, but I can not find a running total.

21 by April.

I give you, the Vancouver Sun Murder Map! https://www.google.c...2.51540925&z=10

The map has not been updated to include the fatal stabbing in Burnaby today, or the fatal shooting in Richmond yesterday.

Ah ha!  OK, we have 45 with the 2 new ones you mention.

EDIT:  Oh, 47, as 2 of them above were listed as double-murders, same location.

Urgent public service announcement: if your residence or workplace is downtown, and if you have a fire department key compartment by your door, check right now to see whether it has been compromised. Some have been swiped, and others have been removed by the FD to prevent future theft.

While I'm cool with this warning, who cares if a thief is in my building halls.  My door is locked.

I dare anyone to show the theft rate from locked apartment doors, if it is not "targeted".  It's extremely close to zero.  In fact it's so low it makes me mad that anyone tries to conjure it up as a problem.

Whatever.

Provide some stats.  I've never heard of anyone in my 50-year life of having their apartment door lock smashed, picked, or otherwise compromised.  It simply does not ever happen, save for domestics.

Apartment living, in terms of your own suite (not storage lockers or underground parking) is the safest thing ever.

It's not about having your lock picked or broken into, it's about the guy having a key to the building, where he can proceed to check all the doors to see what's been left unlocked, rummage through cars, break into mailboxes, storage lockers, etc...

Which building do you live in, VHF?  I know a guy who knows a guy who can make sure it doesn't have a front door lock :)

Have you tried putting out a fire with an axe?

They were mad about the door but I didn't think that was the appropriate way to handle it.

Update: Vic PD is taking this seriously. The figure they gave me is 1100 properties affected. It's a good time to be a locksmith :-)

Didn't we have a case like this where master keys to those boxes went missing/stolen a few years ago?

Something along these lines has happened before, yes.

Edit: I'm not here to speculate on cause or blame. I just want people to be aware. Cheers.
