911 calls from sim-less phones come from the tower - at least insofar as the actual connection to the Telecoms Centre is concerned. That's the problem with blocking it - any similar-ish phone will dial in with the same display number.
The way they used to do it on TV was to keep the person talking until they traced the call.
In WWII movies they have those vans that run around with the antenna on the roof that triangulated the position.
Today they have the military drones that take out the entire phone, but then you have collateral damage, and that wouldn't be popular.

On Sitkum you might find some public apathy.

The Douglas McDonalds was taped off in the middle of the night on Monday night, I think. Police were inside. Any idea what happened?
Bear spray discharge after a guy got kicked out by security. No serious injuries, lots of yelling.

Do employees get danger (or dealing-with-drunks) pay for working evenings at the downtown location?

They do get a night premium at the Douglas location.

Yelling! It's somewhat amusing - I haven't heard 'goof' used as a disparaging adjective in the popular lexicon for many years now - unless it's some 'desperate' individual on police video; and then it seems to be the most popular insult..

It's very strong insult among the incarcerated-set. It does not go much higher.
Goof: jail term for child moletser. Worst name you can call someone in jail. Its an automatic fight. Originated long time ago
Goof - worst insult although ***** and punk are also used.

Yeah... and definitely not a term you use with the street folk, for probably obvious reasons.

VicPD is asking the City to approve a budget increase of $1.33 million, or 1.7%. This includes the hiring of six officers and two civilian staff.
Reported crime is down, why the increase?
Housing 400 homeless was supposed to bring our policing costs down, right?

How about Vic PD starts charging for every call to certain properties when it is determined that the call is not criminal in nature. Seems like the the chronic nuisance properties run a skeleton crew to save money cause they know they can call 911 for backup.

I don't know do you really want people thinking twice about calling 911 even if they are a nuisance property/especially if they're a nuisance property?
