I suspect like most military, paramilitary and policing organizations, everything flows through the 'chain of command'.

Geez, makes you wonder. Could that be it, or is it just a lil' blitz in time for Canada Day?
Cleaning up for Canada Day. Don't want anything messy on camera that might upset potential tourists. They will all be back on the 2nd.
Remember Helps has told us many times that the courts prevent police from removing campers.

Mayhem today at Reeson Park. Police showed up in force and removed EVERYONE and EVERYTHING while City crews moved in and started hosing down the concrete. There was some yelling and swearing from individuals being removed.
This all still going down as I write this.

Well that didn't last long, walked past at 6.00pm last night and it was back to " normal " Tents, rubbish, supermarket trolleys, the usual mess. Toothless Tammy leading the party.

That's gotta be one of the most poorly-designed booby-traps I've ever seen. Kind of hard to imagine that the intent was to stick someone...it looks more like a decoration

I think it's more about intimidation than actual harm. Maybe it's just someone attempting to demonstrate the lack of security in city parkades.

Lets look at harm reduction at its finest. When will common sense prevail. I just don't get it. Who is overseeing Cool Aid....

Can you send the photos to city council members and the mayor? The Times Colonist?
This is beyond disgusting. This is why we don't want a Cool Aid run facility in our quiet Fairfield neighbourhood.

I think you hit the nail on the head. Judging from those photos it doesn't appear anyone is overseeing Cool Aid. Those conditions are beyond disgusting.

"What is worse is that there are emergency family units upstairs. I know a single Mom who had no where to go after a fire and was put there with her dog and her four year old by social workers. With a lack of low rental and subsidized housing with a pet or even without, the child was subjected to this, all of it, exactly what you see in these photos. There is only one entrance to the elevator and people would be shooting dope or passed out etc. The police are constantly there. It was so bad, even some of the addicts staying there would come right up to the Mom and say, "You know, you really shouldn't have your kid here.""

I'm surprised so many people are surprised at the photos. Have these people never been downtown? I guess they don't visit local parks, don't spend much time downtown or have never worked at a downtown business.
