I was surprised by how short this building looks from the highway. Those oak trees are taller than some of us might realize.

I wonder if the Amtrak operator was surprised at how short the curve was and how much taller the trees looked.

The "roof" on the 8th floor looks curved to me. Is that an optical illusion in the photo?

Vaulted for sure, but not sure about a curved vault. That seems like it would be a lot more complicated.
They have now started the footings for phase two....I am guessing the framing crew topping phase one out and just moved over to start phase two; nice setup.

Vaulted for sure, but not sure about a curved vault. That seems like it would be a lot more complicated...
As I said above, it's probably just an optical illusion in the photo, but it sure does looked curved to me.

The gradual-ness of the vault from side to side certainly offers the illusion of a curve. The angle definitely looks a bit more straight in the rendering.
