Public pressure has forced the organizers and the charter company to move the departure point from the private dock at the Coast Harbourside Hotel to the Harbour Authority dock at Ship Point. And to downgrade "naked women" to "exotic entertainment".

Organizing a boob cruise in Victoria isn’t as easy as one might think.

Monty’s Reunion Boob Cruise is a three-hour trip on a 95-foot luxury yacht, poised to sail on Aug. 24. There will be booze, music and dancing. And, in keeping with the event’s title, there will be strippers such as Katerina Dior, Tegan Fox and Honey Dipper.

“We are,” declared organizer Wayne Kalnciems, “making a mobile strip bar on the ocean.” Kalnciems, a.k.a. “Chicken,” is a former Monty’s DJ. These days, he books entertainment for most of B.C.’s strip clubs.

His boob cruise is essentially a reunion party for Monty’s Showroom Pub, the Government Street strip club that closed its doors in 2013. Many attendees will be former patrons, dancers and staff. It’s open to the public — for $99, you can buy a ticket.

Back in 1911 when this place was built it was known as the Hotel Westholme. Marketing for the hotel depicted a six floor building - https://www.flickr.c...9696613/sizes/l

Nudge, Nudge: Strip-club kingpin doffs job, makes mom happy

Who’s happiest about Chicken’s decision to retire from the strip-club business? His mom.

Chicken (a.k.a. Wayne Kalnciems) was raised Catholic. He went to St. Patrick’s Elementary School, then St. Andrew’s Regional High School. Wore the neatly pressed school uniform and all.

“My mother was like: ‘Thank God! Finally!’ She was the most ecstatic person on Earth,” he said.

For 20 years, Kalnciems worked in the strip-club business, finally ending up as a partner with Vancouver-based Stripper Entertainment. He booked dancers for 17 clubs in B.C., including the Fox Showroom Pub at the Red Lion Inn.

Kalnciems quit the biz on March 31. He wants a more regular lifestyle.

Before Chicken permanently leaves the roost, his swan song will be mounting the second annual Boob Cruise. Devotees of cocktails, music and exotic dancers can pay $99 to take the yacht trip on July 12 (tickets at Lyle’s Place).

It will be enjoyable, promised Kalnciems. After all, the first one went swimmingly.

“Nobody died,” he said. “Nobody fell overboard, nobody got murdered.”

I heard some chatter today that Cielo Properties (Stan Sipos) has an interest in this property and that we may see something happen in 6 months..

This made me curios so I headed on over to have a look around.

The whole building is a complete mess and looks far beyond rebuild.

The only thing that will be good for this place is to knock it down dig a big hole and build something new.

The Government street facade of course will be retained for heritage purposes.

Once inside the deteriorated status of the building became more obvious.

I found something truly amazing though. The Government street sidewalk has about 6 or 8 panels of those Blue Prisms buried under concrete sidewalk.

I could also see that much of the Government street sidewalk is held up (reinforced against collapse)  with post shoring.

There is coal chute and coal storage room in the alley side of the basement

I took a few pictures but drained the battery quicker than usual due to needing to use flash with each photo

Oh ya, there is a basement there for sure.  We tried to get a VV tour a few years back, but the owner balked.

The photos after the furnace are of the coal chute including a manhole in the ceiling of the coal chute. I lost my bearings a little in there but pretty sure it was in the alley out back

Someone must have staged the blow-up doll.  No way it was inflated.  Who put their mouth to that thing, and where was the inflate valve?
