The white Stratocaster in the right corner is a nice touch.

This is why we shouldn't get too crazy with building a giant film studio. There are enough great vacant and underused buildings in the region that can be used with minimal decoration. That set looks great.

Disturbing? It's a live music nightclub venue, only those of us that know the locations history would even consider strippers.

According to the CoV development tracker it looks like things might be moving ahead on this project.
The City is considering a Development Permit with Variance application to develop within the existing plaza hotel for 100 residential units plus ground floor commercial, the proposal requires variance for number of bicycle stalls.
The letter from Eric Barker (the architect) to the city suggests a few changes from the previous proposal
...There are no longer building encroachments overhanging the Pandora property line. We are asking for a variance on bicycle parking - 100 required for the units and 93 provided as well as 9 bikes required for the commercial and visitors to the building and none provided. The interior courtyard is no longer linked to the public open space on Pandora. Units no longer face each other over the relatively narrow interior courtyard rather, the units on the east side of the interior courtyard face east with private decks...

They want to cover parts of the old building in shale or some such thing? What's that all about? Would they even be allowed to do that?
I prefer the new concept for the new part and the old concept for the old part. I don't think I even get the new concept for the old part.
