The highest pressure salespeople I have ever encountered are at Harris Chrysler .

Give them your number and you will have 3 or possibly 4 different salespeople call you on a regular basis on the same day for weeks until you threaten them

Worst I saw was Victoria Hyundai.   Went there once for a test drive and got the super high pressure sales pitch.  Then got endless calls from them that I never answered until once I ignored one call at dinner time and they phoned back again seconds later.   Picked up and told them to get ****ed.

Went up to the Duncan dealer and he said they get a lot of people that buy in Duncan because the Victoria dealership is so fanatical.

Off topic but there is a UVIC connection to the Subaru Telescope in Hawaii.

The $6-million Raven TMT project has been a decade in the making. On a Tuesday afternoon in December, it was time to pack, ever so carefully, the delicate device to ship to its destination atop a mountain in Hawaii, where construction has started on what is to be the world’s most powerful telescope.

The TMT is set to come online in 2020. It is expected to be the largest and most advanced optical telescope in the world, with more than 12 times the resolution of the Hubble Space Telescope.

The dealership loans vehicles to families with children coping with cancer to help with travel to B.C. Children’s Hospital in Vancouver.

A sign in front of the dealership makes community announcements such as birthday news in return for donations to the Help Fill a Dream Foundation. Those programs will continue under the Pattison Group.

Organizations that have benefitted from Saunders’ support include art and theatre programs, Chamber of Commerce events and youth sports. The Salvation Army, Cops for Cancer, Victoria Hospice and the Victoria Firefighters Burn Unit have also received backing from Saunders.

Imagine a Sebberry in a Subaru? That would be confusing at the best of times!

Will the present building be renovated or demolished?

That block around Bay street has really become a car servicing hub.

Are these types of businesses ever at the bottom of a condo/rental building? Seems like this area could do with some increased density.

So what's the deal with the new Audi dealership that was supposed to be built on Douglas? Is the company reconsidering because of the Super 8 housing next door? Was looking forward to their Cook street location being developed.

I was recently helping my parents purchase a car and it was the most annoying experience I’ve had in a long time. I ordered my Tesla online using PayPal; no sales person. By far the best purchasing experience of any product I’ve ever had (and also the best product I’ve ever purchased)…..the rest of industry is so messed up and so far behind. Everyone is wearing suits for some reason, but I knew more about the product than half the sales people just by watching YouTube videos/reading a few reviews/quickly scanning the specs. Then you have to play this game where they need to get a “quote,” for you. Then there is the game of back and forth negotiations……...and no I don’t want coffee while I wait around for no reason.

I am shocked that there is demand/reasoning for these massive dealerships.  I just don't get it; the direct to consumer sales seem to be the way to go in my opinion but only Tesla is doing it.

You just have to be willing to walk in knowing the model and features you want, the price you're willing to pay and whatever you want for your trade.  If you're willing to order and wait 6 weeks even better.

But yes, I agree - it's a silly process.
