They sure better have a thorough and thoughtful traffic management plan in place; I drove out to the west shore yesterday to p/u my wife from work at 4:45. She is working in temporary office space on Sooke Rd just past RRU, until their new seniors facility opens on Jacklin in November.

This is normally about a 20 minute drive from our place. She gets off at 5:30 - and yet I was still ten minutes late getting there due to the crazy traffic on Craigflower, especially at the Admirals Road intersection. Traffic at that light was backed up on Craigflower all the way back to Cooper Rd, which is the main entrance off Craigflower onto the Songhees First Nation. Fifty-five minutes to drive what normally takes me a third that time.

^ We need to build a wall.

And make the current residents of Christie Point pay for it.

Any whining should be forwarded to the Town of View Royal and to  Corporation of Esquimalt for the destruction of Admirals Rd and Old Island Highway .

One lane and their so called traffic calming which should have been called traffic stopping.

It could only happen in Victoria where a secondary route of only 2 into the city is chewed up and spit out like they were.

Rezoning approved, redevelopment on hold it looks like. Last mention I can find says that the project would be delayed, with no work anticipated in 2018. The developer is focusing on other projects across the country. https://www.vicnews....-point-delayed/

I suspect once these new units are built, they'll only be showing them to potential buyers at high tide?

Low tide has pretty much all of Portage Inlet (including all of Christie Point) stinking like a plate of bad Uni from a cheap sushi joint.

They’re all slated to be rentals.

This proposal is threatening to push Ken Mariash/Focus Equities' Songhees-Bayview development for the title of the longest slumbering proposal in the region. The link provided by Jackerbie above references a story that is now nearly 5 years old, lol.

Victoria is sometimes funny, in a non-amusing sort of way, in that proposed developments here typified by these two - not to mention practically anything in Oak Bay - and which are often rather modest by the standards of other cities, can take longer to reach fruition than the rise and eventual fall of global empires, or the planning, execution and actual fighting of world wars.

I took a peek at the Realstar Group web page and Christie Point is nowhere to be seen or mentioned so I presume they remain 100% focused on their hotel and UK-based projects to give much thought to the folks out here in Mayberry by the Sea. I wonder if they eventually bail altogether and just sell this property?

Christie Point was sold to Killam some time ago. If/how they choose to proceed with redevelopment remains to be seen.

Know it all.
