I've eaten at both Brasserie l'ecole and Deep Cove Chalet.

they burnt the bread!

Plus, you paid $30 for your beer?

So where does that leave one wanting a classic French dining experience without travelling to a different time zone for burnt bread and unwelcome dining suggestions?

Guess I'll just book a cruise again and choose a specialty restaurant for my fine cuisine.

The one time we ate at Deep Cove we were not impressed.  They burnt the bread and while the lobster bisque and beef wellington were okay, it wasn't good enough to warrant a return trip, especially given how far away it is - and did I mention they burnt the bread!

Yeah but at those fancy smancy places when you complain they just tell you that is how it is supposed to be served.

I was really hoping this place would open somewhere else in Victoria. I have a $200 gift certificate that was purchased for us as a gift just before they closed down.
