Everybody hates View Tower but we seem to love miniature fat and wide versions of that building.

I actually don't hate VT.  I think it could easily be made upscale.  See:  Q Apartments.

But the current ownership / management does not seem like they are into that kind of thing.

I do, but that has just as much to do with how prominent it looks because Victoria is so afraid of building anything decent around it than the actual building itself (it is way too fat, way too wide and ugly as hell).

Orchard House isn't far off either. At least it's got a better colour.

But man, Edmonton's western downtown area is chock full of VT's. It's a terribly ugly urban landscape.

IIRC, they have some rather new VTs as well.

Those are pretty good looking and in good shape. Some of the older ones are just terrible, depressing sights. They don't seem to maintain them very well. Oh and they don't positively pressurise the hallways so you get to enjoy everybody's particular smells and smoke.

So there is a development permit change for the 16 storey Hudson Walk II, they want less commercial space and increase the residential to 178 units, allowing residential on the first floor.

Victoria police and Hudson District management are asking for the public's help in identifying the individual(s) responsible for pointing a green laser into units of neighbouring buildings and at vehicles.

The incident occurred on the night of the 29th and because the act is a criminal matter, VicPD are investigating.

Know it all.

You just need a lot of string from the thumb tacks on the wall in each person unit out through a hole in the glass where you marked with your felt pen during the green light thing.

All it need is a triangulation back to the point of origin where all the string lines meet. I think this method was devised during WW II*.

How are they able to ascertain that it was a criminal act when they do not know how the light got into the units and where the light came from? Makes me think of the Blanshard Court fire they are not going to investigate the cause even though there is talk of the person living there possibly being involved in something illegal in the unit where the fire started
