I will be on C-FAX 1070 AM this morning at 11:40 a.m. on Murray Langdon's show talking about late night shenanigans, public urination, cheap hotels and other delightful topics. Listen live at: http://www.cfax1070.com/listen.php?callsign=CFAXAM

Nice surprise to tune into CFAX this afternoon to hear Frank Stanford filling in as host in the 1-3 show, would be nice if it were permanent. Way too much veteran talent there to be used in a beat-reporting capacity.

I tuned into CFAX recently and the topic for discussion was fish and was reminded very quickly of why I don't listen to CFAX-because the topics are thoroughly safe and tremendously boring.

And if I hear another "Sam, Sam the Roofing Man" jingle, I'm going postal

Preach it, brother! I don't know who produces local commercials, but that one is a classic of its' kind. The singer sounds like she's on a mix of benzodiazepines and Paxil...her affect (and pitch) is suicidally flat, but it's OK because she's on meds
It's nearly been topped now by the Moss Man extended version just released. It's got a freakin' funny chorus.

That's got to be one of the worst jingles I've every heard.

Default Moss Man

You beat me to it! I heard that "Moss Man" thing on the way to work today and couldn't believe how utterly awful it was. Herb Tarlek from WKRP could have devised something better. Now I want to hear it again so I can commit it to memory as a true classic (the sign of an effective ad, I know).

Tom Hawthorne of the Globe on the late Clare Copeland, former C-FAX owner and co-founder of Honda City. He also started Copeland Communications.

We have lost some legendary local businessmen this year:

Charlie White
, who also co-owned C-FAX and CHEK, in addition to starting Undersea Gardens and being BC's most famous fishing guru.

Reg Midgley, former car dealership owner, sports hall-of-famer and racing promoter.

The common thing among them seems to be an interest in multiple areas of business.
