Point Ellice Bridge water main replacement crew hits natural gas line
Crews working on the Point Ellice Bridge water pipe replacement project allegedly hit a natural gas pipeline at approximately 10:30PM Sunday evening.
The sound of escaping gas, similar to the whine of a taxiing jet aircraft, could still be heard as far as a kilometer away from the bridge as of 11:31PM.
Centra Gas crews are expected to arrive on the scene momentarily.
