What do you expect from a person who commits a criminal offense under Canadian law in a foreign land. He should have done the right thing and stepped down. This is just another example of bad leadership that will eventually cause more suffering to the average Canadian. I get the feeling he has forgotten that he is a public servant, a servant to all Canadians.

I'm a supporter of the Liberals in general, and certainly not a supporter in any way of the NDP. However, Leftcoast's comment is ridiculous. The HST is a cash grab on items which shouldn't be taxed (more). We already pay a lot of tax in Canada. I pay millions a year in tax in my business, and more than 98% of people personally. It's excessive. It will deter people from buying new homes. That's obvious. The 5% GST already does that.

I'd also like to add, that I know many people who are not low income people who oppose the HST, so what does that tell you?

To Leftcoast complains again: Not all low income people in BC are on welfare, and not everyone on welfare is a drug taking loser, some are handicapped and receive disability. Also, please get your facts straight about the HST, which isn't exclusively on new homes. It's this page on this website that talks about 'only' the houses. Please read the link that Russ Miller left with his comment. Also get over the big mistake that the NDP did a long time ago. I'd rather have them than that smarmy crooked liar Gordon Campbell any day.

The HST will be applied to a lot of things exept things like gasoline, school supplies, childrens car seats and a few other odd items like that. The rest of things like non prescription meds, vitaminds, clothing, dry cleaners, hair cuts, restaurants, and a host of other things will be taxed to the max. I only hope you are wealthy enough to afford all of it, or else you will ssoon be complaining.

To Russ Miller, thanks for posting the link for the petition.....I had actually gladly signed it before I found this site and will encourage others to sign it as well.

Wellfare bc people want all their social services but then don't want to pay taxes. Also this tax is only on new homes that haven't been lived in. Maybe you wanted bigger deficits under the ndp and higher personal income taxes?
