The Land Conservancy of British Columbia announced today that Gordon Head’s Madrona Farm has been purchased by the organization and will be leased to the previous owners, Nathalie and David Chambers, for continued use as a farm.
“This campaign was a rewarding one for TLC. To see the community rally behind protecting a local food source was truly amazing. The generosity has been inspiring. We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone involved, especially Nathalie and David Chambers,” says Bill Turner, TLC’s Executive Director.
The 27-acre Madrona Farm produces over 128,000 pounds of produce annually with some 4,000 yearly customers patronizing the farm’s roadside stands. With the sale of the land, Madrona Farm will remain “in agricultural production forever.”
