The bar currently under construction in the Bedford Regency Hotel on Government Street will be called The Churchill.

It will be operated by the same team behind Garrick's Head.

Really looking forward to checking this place out, I love Garrick's and they did a great job with the last expansion.

Any word on an opening date?

So they are going back to thier roots. The bar that resided there downstairs was called the Churchhill for decades I remember it in the 1970s

How long does a keg stay 'good' once opened? If you have 50 kinds of beer, how many beers total do you have to sell and hope they are somewhat evenly distributed to make sure you dont have any waste?

The shelf life depends on your draft system, we go through usually a keg a week at least of everything. some are 3-8 kegs a week each. if there are some slower movers I can order them in smaller kegs to keep things fresh.

Also, unless you have a beer that sells real fast, you push beer out of the keg with compressed "beer gas" rather than just air out of a compressor, keeps it fresher (and reduces foam/wastage).

Opening of the Churchill is delayed, hoping for FRIDAY afternoon July 4th.

Fine, fine.  I'll go check it out.  We had actually planned to be there on opening night, but the inspection delays messed with our schedule too.
