I have been enjoying the series between the M's and the Jays, mostly because the M's have been playing so well but I am interested in fan allegiances as it seems fairly divided in Victoria. I personally can't imagine supporting a team from practically another country (Ontario) but the Jays seem to have their fans here.

Also it seems that the M's don't do very much promotion in town and it is hard to listen into a game unless you can pick-up one of the Seattle radio stations. Why?

It's like the Leafs. Why would anyone support the Leafs?

True. I find it odd to support a team 3000 kms away over a team 80km away but there are Leaf fans here too aren't there...

Technically speaking our allegiance in Victoria should be for the Red Wings.

As a huge Jays and M fan, should be a no brainer to be fans of either team.

If you love baseball and were around in the 90s, the Jays were huge. All non bandwagon fans will still love the Jays.

Growing up on the west coast, it is easy to be a fan of the M's (and Seahawks).

But shocked how easily the M's are handling the Jays. Game 3 starts in mins.

^^ I agree with Wayne. It was hard not to be swept up in the Jays run in the early 90's and the Expos' stellar team pre-lockout.

Also, keep in mind how many of us that now live on the coast came from (or lived at one time in) other places, like Ontario.

If you were born and raised here I understand supporting the M's over the Jays.

Toronto Blue Jays-New York Yankees opener the most watched program in Sportsnet history, network says

TORONTO — Sportsnet says an average of 2.03 million viewers tuned in to Friday’s game between the Toronto Blue Jays and New York Yankees, making it the most-watched program in the network’s history.

In a release, Sportsnet says audience levels peaked at 3.14 million in the bottom of the ninth inning of the Jays’ 4-3 loss.

Sportsnet says its previous most-watched program was the 2014-15 NHL season opener between the Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Maple Leafs, which delivered an average audience of 2.01 million.

They are selling out home games, that does not happen very often does it?

I do not understand the win marker here, it's too low in almost every season... EDIT:  Oh, I guess it could be "wins in a game with over 40,000 in attendance"blue-jays-games-with-more-than-40000-att

Just don't get the Blue Jay thing and I was born in Toronto. There must be 15 teams that are closer to us.

That was the craziest game I've ever seen. Period. Holy.
