The new CNN Digital

CNN's independent, global journalism is expanding. We share the essential stories of the world we live in, from Ferguson to Syria to Nigeria,

from mysteries to marvels. We cover creative acts and intriguing people. We tell you what we know when we know it. We explain, we investigate, and we uncover big stories.

We are bringing those stories to more people around the world on more screens, feeds and devices than ever before.

More than 15 million people around the world experience CNN on their phones, laptops, tablets and desktops and in their social feeds every day.

This new design spans our domestic and international sites and reflects our expanding reach on the critical stories of our times.

It's fitting that our internal code word for the launch of this new site was "expansion."

Why is everything on their new site so big and 'in your face'?

It took me awhile to get used to it, but like this website you will find it easy after you've done once or twice.

Ohhhhh mannnn. CNN anchor Chris Cuomo lost his marbles when some guy approached him and called him Fredo.

Lots of tough guy words in a video that was taken of the exchange. A somewhat comical aspect to all of this is that it appears Cuomo and the jokester are under some kind of a circus tent.

You can find the video at your favourite rental place.

One of the oddest twists in all of this is CNN’s panelists have often referred to Republican figures as Fredo. CNN’s Matt Dornic even referred to Trump Jr. as a dumb brother when Jr. pointed out that brother Eric is often labelled Fredo, and despite Cuomo’s assertion, Fredo is not the “n word” for Italians.

What a mess.

So what now? A CNN anchor goes unhinged after being called something panelists have been calling Republicans for years. Will CNN issue an apology? Stay tuned. I’m sure the fireworks are far from over.

Trump Jr. just tweeted:

Unbelievable: @Youtube has taken down the viral video showing @chriscuomo threatening to assault a heckler and then grotesquely comparing “Fredo” to the N word. Youtube/Google literally covering up his racism and violent threats. You can’t make this stuff up. #StopTheBias

Ohhhhh mannnn. CNN anchor Chris Cuomo lost his marbles when some guy approached him and called him Fredo.

Let me get this straight. You're out in a park with your nine year old daughter. You work in an industry that is a potential target by domestic terror and where you often get death threats. Some unhinged guy gets in your face using an ethnic slur and you're saying you wouldn't go nuclear on his ass?

Sure, Fredo (or Polack) isn't as vile as the N-word but considering the situation he found himself in, why are even debating this?

Why is it necessary to make this a great excuse to laugh at the stupid Libtards?

Can I go up to a CHEK news personality in Gyro Park having a fun afternoon with her kid and get in her face and throw slurs at her, too? Maybe someone can catch it on video so us cowardly keyboard warriors can laugh at her. Good times.

he wasn’t at a park with his kid. nobody got in his face. he was drinking at a bar. my bet says if he was more sober he would have reacted the calm way he has done all other times he’s been heckled by a right wing person.

it was the liberals - see Maxine Watters - that revved up public verbal attacks by the way.

good people - on all sides - do stupid stuff when they are drunk. lightly heckling. and drastically overacting to light heckling.

If it’s an ethnic slur, why are you using it?

Now Don Jr,--who is in a race with brother Eric to see which is the most Fredo of the family--made a really moronic mistake in bringing in Manafort and Kushner into the meeting. Now everyone's implicated, including dad because the source offered to send the info to Trump's private secretary and gatekeeper.

Amateur Hour.

The whole point behind the Cuomo thing was to highlight how CNN as a network permits panelists to refer to Republicans as Fredos (including the president’s son). It’s the new witty buzz word, apparently.

But when one of their own is mocked as a Fredo, he loses his composure in spectacular fashion. The point was made and the double standard catapulted to stardom.

I've used that term to denote the weak brother in a family. Nothing to do with Italian-Americans which is clear and obvious from the context. If I say Gerald Butts is Trudeau's Luca Brasi that means Butts is his enforcer.

well cuomo quite literally has a prominent brother (the governor). and a famous dad (like the corleone family). so why is it not used the same way you do?

you calling someone a “Luca Brasí” perpetuates racial or ethnic stereotypes.
