What does Tiger need to get his game back?

A new caddy, a new woman, a psychiatrist or a change of careers?

A dose of wry humor kept Woods, who won his first U.S. Open 15 years ago, smiling after he hit a miserable opening round of 80 at Chambers Bay, Washington.

The American mixed eight bogeys, a triple bogey and a birdie to finish 10 shots off the lead, tied in 152nd place and above just two players, U.S. Open rookie Rich Berberian Jr and world No. 9 Rickie Fowler.

"The bright side is at least I kicked Rickie's butt today," Woods told reporters with a nod and a grin.

For many years Mike Weir hasn't been able to make a cut to save his own life and yet he still managed to come within a whisker of winning an event last year. Tiger Woods is in David Duval mode right now but I expect him to win at least a few more events before he's really done (barring a career-ending injury, of course).

As long as someone is willing to continue to pay him 7 figure appearance fees then he likely doesn't care.

(CNN) Rory McIlroy has a "10% chance" of playing in the British Open after the world's No. 1 golfer ruptured his ankle ligaments while playing soccer.

Woods finished at 8 under and tied for 18th overall at Quicken Loans National.

He went away with $94,000, a far cry from his glory days, but an improvement of late.

He could make it back. He did win 5 times quite recently! Everyone is just so focused on his winning majors.

I'll see if I can find a little sympathy in my heart for a guy who can make (double?) the national average salary in a weekend while playing a game... nope, fresh out of sympathy today.  MAybe some more in stock next week..

Say, what's that mountain goat doing up here in the mist?

Tied for the 36 hole lead at the Wyndham. He really needs a win here.

Halfway there.  Minus a meltdown round this weekend, he should finish high.
