The concept might not be named The Warehouse, but it's by the folks that bring you The Hastings Warehouse, and The Famous Warehouse in Vancouver.

http://foodology.ca/warehouse/

The Hastings Warehouse has ALL their food for $4.95. Drink are of course more costly than $4.95. This place is always packed and you will always see groups of people drinking. Even though it is on Hastings, it’s not sketchy at all.

I try to get to The Famous Warehouse on Granville each time I am in Vancouver. Cheap & delicious food.

there's also an "el Furniture Warehouse" in Whistler that offers the same $4.95 menu items all day long, every day, etc.. (I wonder if it's the same people).  It always has a line-up out the door, longer on weekends, although i've been told the portions are small.

It's not that Warehouse food is the best you'll ever have, but it's likely the best meal you'll ever have for $4.95.

Although The Reef consistently denied it, and made repeated direct appeals to us to remove this thread and remove Facebook posts... it has now been publicly announced, almost 2 months since we learned the news.

Go figure, after all that stink and denial, the rumours are true!  I will miss the Reef, guess I'll have to chase the truck now.

Coming very soon to downtown Victoria: From Granville to Yates St., EL Furniture Warehouse has finally found a home on the Island. Famous for our Cocktails, & our $4.95 Menu (All Food All Day.)

I have been to the "Warehouse" on Granville a number of times (I love their $4.95 menu), but I don't recall it ever being referred to as "El Furniture".

The lower Granville one, Whistler, Hastings are all "el furniture".

15 restaurants across the country now.

Seems to be missing from their exterior signage, so that's probably why I never noticed.

Regardless, I look forward to their arrival in Victoria and I hope they do well here.  :)

jesus it's nearly entirely carbs.  Woo hoo!

ETA: It's a brilliant concept - wonder what food portions are like.  $5 for tapas-sized plates won't break the bank, menu is stupid simple so any cook can do it and just hammer it out, they can easily run 50% COS on most of these items and let volume make up their contribution - plus drinks of course.  They might take a hit on beef and chicken if they are using good quality, but the rest of it's dirt cheap.

Matt.
