A five-storey residential complex has been envisioned for the northwest corner of Sidney's Beacon Avenue and Highway 17 intersection. The proposal, if approved, will deliver nearly 150 residences, and would mark the largest single-building development to materialize in Sidney in modern times.

Very good, thank you. Do you know what, if anything, has occupied the retail spaces?

Yes, that's the property. Note the pathway alongside the highway. That's being preserved.

That's part of the Lochside trail; it probably has to be preserved.

Sidney council isn't exactly moving this along at light speed, are they?

Nope. Council had some interesting questions, though, including one councillor asking why 2BR units have to have two bathrooms, given how expensive they are and how much more it costs to accommodate all the plumbing, etc.

It's a valid point.

My 2 bedroom condo (built in 1994) only has one bathroom, but I sort of wish it had two - or at the very least a 2 piece powder room that I could leave exclusively for the use of guests.

I have also put off renovating my bathroom, since having it out of commission, even for a few days, essentially renders my condo uninhabitable.

For extra encouragement you could try playing Wilson Phillips greatest hits on repeat 24/7.

I think with some creativity you could convert your kitchen to a part time bathroom. Or your laundry set somehow.

Remind me to never visit your kitchen or laundry.

If a reno is so involved as to be shutting down your entire bathroom, maybe it’s best to stay at a hotel for a few nights.

When you only have one W/C and one shower/bath in your home, the renovation is by nature involved.

In North Park don't you have lots of alternative options (until 9pm)?

Technically, those options are in Harris Green.
