A non-profit society in Sooke is now inching closer to its first broadcast over the airwaves after receiving a grant to create a community radio station.
“People we’ve told have been — I would say universally enthused,” said Sue Elrington.
After spending nearly 20 years in broadcasting, telling stories to audiences across the country, Elrington was approached by a few friends back in April with a vision to create a community radio station.

The ultimate dream is to have a physical studio location with an FM license, but because they’re just starting, they’re looking to broadcast over the Internet in early 2025.
