SouthWest Airlines wants ALL the new gates at DEN ( Denver ) Some of those gates United Airlines wanted and if so "would" potentionally lead to a YYJ - DEN route in 2021.....
I don't see any American carrier coming back here as trans border numbers at YYJ drop month after month.

UA has only operated one daily flight for the past few years. 50 seats is far from a "massive" capacity drop!

Plus Delta too.
Delta is still operating, therefore doesn't impact last month's capacity results.

I think the statement made by the CEO of the London Ont. airport said it best to their community. Use it or lose it, refferring to the airport and the airlines serving the city. Since that statement, Swoop cut one run and WestJet I think did too...to Calgary.

For YYJ it absolutely is. The capacity loss of 3,000 to 6,000 passengers per month, about 15-25% of total US-bound seat capacity depending on the time of year).UA has only operated one daily flight for the past few years. 50 seats is far from a "massive" capacity drop!
Transborder figures were climbing, but are now rapidly dropping. UA’s departure has resulted in monthly transborder passenger counts falling 10.1%, 20.3%, 9.7% and 17.1% in the four months since the service cancellation in January. When Delta stops its service that will drop daily capacity to a tiny 304 seats in and 304 seats out per day on Alaska’s four flights, effectively whittling down US-bound capacity to what it was in the 90s.
United operated its SFO flights out of YYJ for a decade.

If anyone is looking for a "cheap" (relative) way to fly YYJ-YVR over the summer, I took the short hop over on Air North on Monday for only $117. Granted, the schedule doesn't work for everyone (Mondays only?), but compared to WS/AC who wanted $250+ it was an easy decision. Also, Air North doesn't seem to raise their fare prices as you get closer to departure (unlike WS/AC), so it was perfect for a last minute booking. Here's what they were asking ~2 hrs prior to the flight.

Thanks for the tip. Does it fly into the south terminal?

Nope - main domestic terminal in the 'B' gates area. Although I have seen an Air North 737 regularly parked over near the South Terminal but figure that must be for charters.

Their offices are over at south terminal and thus that's where they keep their fleet when not on sked flights...and yes, that's where they base charters out of.

No AC Rouge Boeing 767 this summer, taken off the timetable and replaced with a much smaller Rouge A320 mid day flight but keeping the A321 for the red eye. ...

Yeah that mucks up a lot of potential connection options out of TO when the first flight of the day (leaving YYJ) arrives at 8:20PM.

Huh? There's pretty much unlimited connection options if you take the redeye.
