No surprise but YYJ came in shy of 2 million with no fan fare or notice.
YLW did over 2 million but with alittle less than the year before.
YQB ( Quebec City ) 2019 Year end was 1.8 million and doing well.

Is this just a seasonal thing, or are direct flights kaput now?
It might actually be a cheap way to hop a Van flight, actually. They should take advantage of that.
It was year round service
Looks like they are done with direct, they tried out Victoria to Kelowna to Whitehorse for awhile, then it was direct from Whitehorse to Victoria, then via Vancouver to Whitehorse return on Mondays, and on Friday was from Vancouver, then direct to Whitehorse.
Hence why they have a seat sale of 89$ to YVR right now I guess......

Apologies if this has already been mentioned, but Air Canada is going to be upgrading their YYJ-YYC (Calgary) route: at least some departures (this summer) will be on a CRJ-900 (rather than a q400 turbo prop).

I had a CR1 substitution on YYJ-YYC a while ago. The flight time was still pretty similar, to the order of within 15 minutes of original. Great Circle distance between the two cities is 730km, but the CR9 flies higher than the Q400 does. Boarding times might take longer too, as the Q400s can load from the rear, but the CRJs can't. On the other hand, passenger:bathroom ratio goes from 74:1 down to 64:1 and 12:1 for the J-upgraders/employees.
Off topic, but have all the CR-705's been converted to 9's yet?

Is it really an upgrade? Drops a couple seats in capacity from the Q400, but adds business class. Quieter ride over to YYC for sure, which is nice. I guess from the standpoint of them seeing the ability to turn this route (or some aspects of it anyways) into a higher cost-per-seat route with the addition of business class, it's a win for Victoria.

In Jazz's fleet? Yes they have.

The CRJ offers seat back video and USB power.

Air Canada is roaring back into YYJ this summer. Besides the 3 times daily to YYC ( Calgary ) on CRJ in the spring but also their YUL ( Montreal ) service is back this spring and its daily service this year on a A321 instead of the A319.
YYZ ( Toronto ) service in June ramps up with the two daily flights again but notable is the B767 is shown for the daily mid day flight. The red eye will be the A321 thru out the summer. I wonder if this all stays in play for the peek season.
I have noticed over the last month here the reduction in seats for both AC and WJ, running the A319 to YYZ the odd day, sometime 3 times in the week vs the A321. WJ has been running the 737-600 ( 126 seat ) jet service to YYC and YEG as of late.
January must be the softest month for both of them.

YEG currently not on the schedule for this summer again from AC.

No to mention Encore Q400 service on weekends for both YYC and YEG.

They have been doing that for a few years, WJ moves their 737-7/8's to sun destinations during the winter, many of which operate on the weekends

It looks like there’s a Nanaimo-Toronto daily coming, or might have already started via AC.
Seasonal service started 2 years ago at the same time as the Victoria - Montreal route. As with Montreal, it's become more frequent each year.

Seasonally, not year round. Rouge tho and in it's 3rd yr - daily is a new thing.
